Italeri presents this 1/48 scale model of the U.S. Navy's electronic warfare aircraft, the Boeing EA-18G Growler.

The Boeing EA-18 G Growler was designed to meet a specific need of the U.S. Navy: a specialized electronic warfare aircraft to replace the outdated Grumman EA-6B Prowler, both in terms of avionics and performance. The Growler is directly derived from the two-seat F/A-18 F Super Hornet fighter, retaining virtually all its aerodynamic characteristics. The two General Electric engines give the Growler a top speed of Mach 1.8, and performance in line with the aircraft it is designed to support. The crew consists of the pilot and, in tandem, the WSO (Weapon System Officer). Unlike the F/A-18, it is not equipped with a cannon, but can carry radar jamming and electronic warfare pods, additional fuel tanks, chaff and flare dispensers, and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles in its subalpine pylons.
