La Gloire, French 34-gun frigate.

Classic frigate belonging to the French fleet at the end of the 18th century and armed with 26 cannons. She was built according to a design by the naval engineer Guignace and was launched in Saint-Malo in 1778. The model is a reproduction (scale 1:90) of the ship during her first year of navigation, with the bright works painted in white. A year later, in June 1779, as on several other ships, the plunging part of the hull would have been covered with copper plates to protect it from corrosion.
