The RMS Titanic (or SS Titanic) was one of the most majestic liners of the White Star Line shipping company, also owner of the Olympic and the Britannic. Tested in Belfast, she was considered unsinkable.The myth of her alleged unsinkability was forged by the press rather than by her owners (who never denied this rumor), and it was due to the fact that the liner was able to float even with four watertight compartments flooded. Unfortunately, on the night of the impact with the iceberg, six watertight compartments were flooded. The Titanic sank during its inaugural voyage, the night between April 14 and 15, 1912. The disaster, which claimed the lives of 1503 of the 2200 passengers on board (approximately 40% of 1st class passengers and 70% of those of 3rd class),
