Model name: German Main Battle Tank Leopard 1 A5. The Leopard 1 tank is a German second generation main battle tank. In 1956, the Bundeswehr initiated a process to acquire a modern combat tank to replace its American armored vehicles (M-47 and M-48) in order to gain an advantage in terms of armor and firepower against the numerical superiority of Soviet tanks. In 2001, Canada decided to modernize its Leopard fleet. This version of the Leopard is the latest and best of this model. The “Leopard 1” in its different versions was sold to more than 13 countries in the world, including Belgium which put them into service between 1968 and 20132 and the Netherlands. Plastic model to assemble and paint.
