Aircraft model FIAT G-50-II in the service of Finland - Special Hobby

The Fiat G.50 Freccia is a WWII fighter plane. The first modern Italian fighter, entirely metal monoplane and equipped with a retractable train, the project was presented in 1936 to the competition of the Italian ministry and adopted after some modifications, in particular of the train and the armament. A total of 1,237 units were built. Some copies were sent to Spain in January 1939 to be judged in real conditions. He served on all the main fronts in Greece, Africa, the Mediterranean. Each time his inferiority vis-à-vis his adversaries, in particular his too weak armament and his lack of speed, were highlighted.
