German Morser 18 super heavy field gun model kit - Trumpeter

Produced by the Krupp factory in Essen. One of the great innovations introduced on this type of gun (also on the 17cm) was the "double recoil" lookout. Not only did the gun absorb recoil like any other, but the mount had an articulated system to absorb part of it. Thanks to this, the gun remained fixed in its positions, which greatly increased its accuracy, especially for barrage. This concept was mainly used on two guns: the 17 cm Kanone 18 and the 21 cm Mörser 18, respectively introduced in 1941 and 1939. Krupp had to delegate part of the orders to its factories in Hanomag and Hanover. As the war progressed, the 17 cm gun was abandoned in favor of the 21 cm one.
