The De Havilland DH.103 Hornet was a piston-powered fighter jet, based on wood construction techniques developed with the classic De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito. Commissioned at the end of World War II, the Hornet equipped the British day fighter units of the RAF Fighter Command after the war. Then it was used with success as an air? SolN 1 attack aircraft within the framework of the Malay communist insurgency (1948-1960). The Sea Hornet is a variation intended for naval aviation.
