The North American F-100 Super Saber is part of the first generation of supersonic fighters, like its Soviet counterpart the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-19 Farmer. This plane was nicknamed Hun (abbreviation of Hundred, in English, in reference to its designation "F-100") by its pilots who appreciated it very much. Built in more than 2000 copies, the F-100 had a long career and was used until 1982 by Turkey and until 1978 by France (Djibouti base).
